Lauren and I would like to thank you all for allowing us to introduce our
project last night at the meeting. We look forward to having a number of
you volunteer as gurus at the Boys & Girls Clubs here in Raleigh, Wake
Forest, and Zebulon. If you are intersted in volunteering in the Google
CS-First Code Corp program which teaches our members how to code in
scratch, go to our website wakebgc.org and click on the volunteer link or
use this link to go directly to the CS-First volunteer form.

The process is simple. BGC performs a background check at no charge to you
and then we schedule a brief training session usually with Lauren at Google
Fiber. You can then choose which location and days you wish to volunteer. 1
to 2 hours per week is what we are looking for. Thanks.

Note: It was a fun discussion last night. My first "spinning" disc was on
the F-14A Tomcat CSDC in '72 which had the design to work through 9gs of
stress. My first civilian spinning disc was working on a mini computer that
had a spinning platter on top and tape drive for transfer. They were used
by large companies like Ford and Safeway for invoice and inventory.
Remember keypunch operators and cheetos? : )

best,
