Athough this was a number of years ago, I had the task of transfering a few
hundred 35 mm slides to digital. At the time, the process took about 5
minutes per slide and was quite combersome. I decided to use a process that
a friend showed me that was more analog based. Point the slide projector in
a dark room towards a screen and use my 35 mm camera to take a 5 meqapixel
image. When I used the RAW setting on my nikon the images came out pretty
clean and hi res. Also, the process took less that a minute per slide. He
actually had a platform that he tried to sell me for $1000 that did both
slides and film.
