Long time listener...

I've been provided a used laptop with 6 gig of ram and a 2.5 gig 5i
processor running w7. I want to put a linux build on it with the most
resources available including Scratch, python, C, etc. already installed.
The debian build that comes with a raspberry pi is a pretty good build.
This is for a 10 year old who is ready for the next level of coding with
scratch and hour of code activities.

Dumb Q #1. Can I use the build that comes with the R3 to install on the pc?
Dumb Q #2 Do all builds include the above packages?
Smart Q #1 What would you advise?

This will be a gift for xmas. He has a single mom who has 3 children all
very bright but no real funds for a computer at home for them. All three
children 8, 10, 12 are very bright. They are members of the Wake Forest BGC
where I have spent the past summer running CS-First clubs.

I'll take my call off the air and I will now hang up on myself.
