[TriLUG] How to get to text terminal when Ctrl+Alt+F1 doesn't work?

Addendum:  "systemctl set-default multi-user.target" worked fine.  Next
boot didn't attempt Graphical System.

In the Text Mode, I then entered the command, "systemctl start
graphical.target", bringing me back to my Display Manager.

Sounds like Best of Both Worlds.  Text, with an easy way back.
