[TriLUG] [External] Spectrum not in a hurry

With repeated calls to customer service, eventually they send out a technician to your house for free. The issue could be equipment in your wall, or at the power pole. You can definitely get a technician right now, if you are willing to pay a trip charge.

You can also visit the Spectrum store in person, but in the end all calls go to Buffalo (for bulk internet) or Greensboro (Carolinas legacy Time Warner Cable areas) and dispatching is done based on that. Since the merger, Spectrum only allows stores to order remotes. Otherwise, the cable box supply is quite random in store, and they end up shipping non-standard cable boxes to your house for a self-install.

If you are cursed with the mandatory apartment TV and internet service takeover called Spectrum Community Solutions, you can still have a wired modem for an extra fee. Mine is locked in the wall and I usually have to call to get MAC addresses registered.

The Triangle Town Center Spectrum store is closed, so Townridge is their replacement until a substitute location is completed. In theory, that will be near the old Toys R' Us.
