[TriLUG] Storage server diy

For my personal NAS i'm currently using Open Media Vault, it's Debian based
and just works for me. Booting off of an old ssd I pulled from a broken
laptop and using 2x4t seagate iron wolf drives for primary storage with a
usb hd plugged in for backing it up.

If you want a FreeNAS alternative that has some paid support you could also
look into UnRaid. Few of my friends are using that for NAS + Containerized
apps.
