If there is  *any*  mismatch, between interfaces on the two Computers, the
symptom would depend on the details of the mismatch.  For example, I
connect ATA Laptop "Spinning" Drives to other Laptops, using USB.  Once, I
connect one, using USB 1.1 and, *DEFINITELY* got "Slow Boat to China" speed
(almost like a Floppy Disk).
