I've used both Qt Creator (Community) and CodeLite recently. If you want to develop against Qt, Qt Creator is probably your best bet. CodeLite is a good choice for developing against wxWidgets. For console applications or daemon development, I wouldn't say either one is better than the other. That's just what I've settled on, of course; there's NetBeans, Eclipse, and who knows how many text editors with hooks for running compilers and gdb.

Subject: [TriLUG] IDE for C/C++ development?
Hello All;
I have not been doing Linux development for a few years. I have a chance to do a bit now and was wondering what is the "best" IDE for C and C++ development. I loaded Eclipse on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS and it did not start.
So instead of trying to figure out why, I thought I would just ask for advice.
So what is the best IDE for C/C++ development on Linux?
Thanks,
Charles Fischer
