[TriLUG] gluster volume question

not sure how i've managed to avoid gluster for all these years, but i'm 
putting together a POC and need a bit of advice.

8 physical hosts, each with a single block device dedicated to gluster. 
i have the cluster working just fine, but need to create a volume that 
can tolerate the loss of any 4 hosts without affecting availability or 
integrity of the volume.  obviously i can create a volume that is 
replicated across all 8 hosts, but that's pretty poor from a storage 
efficiency perspective.  what volume setup combo 
(distributed/replicated/dispersed) provides the most capacity while 
still meeting the "lose any 4 hosts" requirement?
