Hey Pete,
p1.img was created by taking a good, working SD card, imaging the first
partition (~32 GB), then using resize2fs -M on that image file.

AFAIK, the -f just tells fsck to do a complete check even if it isn't
required (if the fs claims to be clean). If I don't use -f, fsck
doesn't do anything at all.
If I go ahead and mount the SD partition, it /seems/ OK...
