Yes saw that Cat 5E works up to 5Gbe from a slide at Netgear.com.
I like your examples.
Question(s):
1) The 9 ports I'm using now include 2 LAG ports to my NAS. If I
upgrade NAS to multi-gigabit then presumably, I could get by with an
8-10 port switch. More money for a new NAS (~$400 diskless) but at
present only have 1 device that is multi-gigabit, it takes two to link.
Yes not a question more like a stream of consciousness.
2) Many switches have POE which I don't need. Can the POE component be
disabled?
