Eric Troan is credited as being Red Hat's earliest engineer and was known
for his passion toward the whole "changing the world" part of open source.
He went on to be a founder of both rPath and then Pendo.
His father Larry was an IBMer who joined Red Hat in 2003 and was hugely
impactful up through his untimely passing in 2016. It seems everyone had
stories of how he especially embodied Red Hat's culture of openness and
collaboration, and generally was always ready to help people.
