I was a casual reader on this thread and spotted the tailscale
recommendation and I had to try it. I absolutely love the architecture,
design, and setup of tailscale. I just dropped my openvpn server on my NAS
and switched over to tailscale personal. This enabled me to turn off all
of my open ports on my home firewall. If you haven't tried it I highly
recommend giving it a whirl.
