Sounds like you probably have a corrupted config in Firefox.
You should be able to 'refresh' the Firefox config from the "More
Troubleshooting" menu in Firefox.
( Firefox > Help > More Troubleshooting Information > Refresh Firefox
Button )
The Firefox refresh feature will remove add-ons normally stored inside
the Firefox profile folder (such as extensions
<https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/> and themes
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-themes-change-look-of-firefox>).
Add-ons stored in other locations are not removed (although any modified
preferences are reset).
Firefox will save these items:
* Bookmarks
* Browsing and download history
* Passwords
* Cookies
* Web form autofill information
* Personal dictionary
These items and settings will be removed:
* Extensions and themes
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/find-and-install-add-ons-add-features-to-firefox>
* Website permissions
* Modified preferences
* Added search engines
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox#w_add-a-search-engine>
* DOM storage
* Security certificate
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-website-certificate>
and device settings
* Download actions
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file>
* Toolbar customizations
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-firefox-controls-buttons-and-toolbars>
* User styles (chrome subfolder containing userChrome and/or
userContent CSS files
<https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascading_Style_Sheets>, if previously
created)
Usually the items which are removed can be re-created ...but, be aware
of the refresh changes done in Firefox if you have something specific
which needs saving.
You can also review the following Mozilla URL for a more complete
description on what a Firefox 'refresh' will do:

All the best,
Bill
