[Linux-ham] RT Systems USB-to-series cable & linux driver?

I'm running Fedora 21 at home on some old laptops, and at work on my personal laptop. Love it, no problems. Except for one: I can't seem to make my RT Systems USB-to-serial cable (RT-62 or 63, don't recall) work with linux. So to do RTTY and logging with my FT-950, I actually use an old Win XP laptop.
I found Windows drivers for the cable's chipset on the chip manufacturer's website. But they didn't have linux drivers.
I'm guessing the drivers might have made it to a more recent version of Fedora, but I'm reluctant to change my current OS in case a newer Fedora (or any other distro) doesn't actually support the RT Systems cables. My hardware is on the old side (one has a sticker reading "Made for Windows Vista!") and I'm not sure a newer OS would be helpful--UNLESS it actually works with the RT Systems cable chipset.
Does anybody know for sure?
