[RHCE] troubleshooting preperatoin

what did they do - try to apply windows updates?  *grin*

knoppix is terrific for such situations (or the red hat rescue cd, but i 
find that knoppix is more full featured and offers more networking 
tools and utilities, including X).  it has saved my butt on more than 
one occasion.  i'll be happy to join you if you want, it's always 
informative to watch a pro in action :)
