[RHCE] troubleshooting preperatoin

I'm going to boot to knoppix and explore around.  That will confirm that
it isn't a hardware or disk problem. After that I'll just make sure the
data is safe (and the configurations: /etc copied to a safe place), and
then I'll try the install myself.

Moving it back to RHCE... If I didn't have Knoppix, I would just boot
the RH cd's to rescue mode and do my poking that way.

I would love to have you come along, but I'd have to ask the client
first... and they won't be in the office again till tomorrow :-(
