[TriLUG] RH 7.2, KDE 2.2, why does KDM preferred background get changed by Red Hat?

Doing some more homework I see that there is an entry in Red Hat's bugzilla 
database on this (52607) but it hasn't been touched since October (currently 
assigned to Bero).
