I am a geocacher also.  The only software I've seen around is the
already mentioned GPSBabel.  Beyond that, I've been using a windows PDA
solution to carry waypoints, etc.

The only thing I've attemtped thus far was to have my found caches sent
to me in a .gpx file daily.  I then parse the XML with a perl script,
output a small HTML chunk and a data file.  The script then queries the
Tiger map server to plot the found waypoints on a  map and dumps it to
the website.
