Just a word of warning - Earthlink is still owned by TimeWarner, as far
as I know.
I went through installation hell last summer with TWC. Trying to get
away from those turkeys, I signed up with Earthlink, ran into the same
uber-incompetence, found out Earthlink was administered by Time Warner
and part of the same company, and canceled before installation. For the
next three months, Time Warner billed me for non-existence service.
Although my long suffering bank backed out the transactions, TWC still
sent me refund checks and then threatened to send my account to
collections because I would not return their uncashed checks certified
mail. It took a second conversation with their head customer service
guy to get the point across that until I cashed the unsolicited checks,
I owed them nothing.
YMMV, of course, but I'd take dialup before TWC.
