[TriLUG] Ubuntu 11.04 Release Party, April 28, Chapel Hill

I have been using Xubuntu for a few years now, mostly because I
thought (perhaps wrongly) that Gnome was much more memory-hungry.
About a year ago I got a netbook and put the Netbook Remix on it,
where the Unity interface was first introduced. I kind of fell in love
with it, so I now am upgrading all my desktop machines to Ubuntu with
Unity. The interface is not without quirks, but it is the easiest time
I've had adapting to a new workflow mindset.

The one modification I usually make is removing all icons from the
desktop: this is an ugly Windows concept.
