[TriLUG] TWC Cable Modem Fee

I just came across this article talking about how TWC is going to 
roll out a monthly cable modem fee across the country.  It also says 
they have been charging new customers since the start of the year. 
Is anyone on the list paying the fee yet?  I guess this is also a 
good time to start up a discussion of which cable modems to buy.
