[TriLUG] Soon-to-be new RasPi owner

Brian, all,

I have one of the earlier Pi's, but ruined it trying to put in a case that
I purchased from Amazon( I looked for an amazon part number. Couldn't find
it. Listed as Raspberry Pi Case / Enclosure, Black. Be careful -- No
instructions. Read the

It worked as a simple linux computer until the disaster hit it.

I now have a model b on order along with a PiFace and a different case. I
plan to use it a a video Title generator on our video streaming site at
church. The PiFace will be used ( hopefully ) attached to the Pi as remote
power on device for our equipment rack at church.

My brother has tested the Piface with a earlier Pi, and says that he was
able to control external devices with the relay contacts on it.

Another project I hope to use is a usb webcam attached to a model b Pi to
give me a composite output from the webcam as an auxiliary camera for our
video streaming.

Yes -- More projects than MY dollars will allow. The church dollars are
limited as well.
