[TriLUG] Router recommendations

I have a couple Archer C7s — got them late last year — they’re just fine. Though 5GHz might be a little excessive for a phone and a printer; they won’t really use it, I suspect. 

Better put OpenWRT on it, too, because TP-LINK’s firmware is mediocre, as I suspect you know already. “Chaos Calmer” works great. Get the ath10k packages to enable 802.11ac support/5Ghz.

If you want to spend $20 less and only need 802.11n support, I found EasyTomato on an ASUS RT-N16 to be rock solid, too.
