[TriLUG] Large coverage area wifi: Eero, Ubiquiti, other?

I am getting ready to wifi my house, garage, and detached workshop.

I've been hearing great things about the Eero (eero.com) and was recently
reminded of the Ubiquiti products (ubnt.com)

Are there other better / equal options in roughly the same price range (say
in the ~$500 ballpark, but definitely under $1000) that will handily cover
an end-to-end distance of 200' across a couple floors?
