[TriLUG] Spectrum Modem Fees

I spent over an hour on the phone with them earlier this year trying to prevent my internet bill from increasing by $20/mo. That got me a $15 increase rather than a $20 increase.

A couple months ago, an AT&T salesman came by and offered a 300mb symmetrical connection with fees waived for $50/mo (fee waiver lasts for lifetime of the account). Taxes are also included, so it costs an even $50/mo.

When I called to cancel my Spectrum connection (200mb/20mb), they let me know that they could offer me 100/10 for $50/mo with fees waived. Plus they could buy out the contract I got myself into. I declined and shook my head.

Tl;dr: based on my experience I would agree that they don't seem to care about competing on price, and I have been pretty happy with the switch.
