[TriLUG] Distro choice for desktop

   Well, most distros have a 'live cd' that you can use to try out on your
hardware. It usually will install & run on a thumbdrive.
Have you been here:  https://distrowatch.com/  ?

I tend to install and then swap HDDs (or SSDs) to test different flavors, I
may run one distro for a day to get an understanding of if it's what I want.
For a linux test a 30 GB drive is more than big enough. (I have a small
Dell laptop that I swap between Win & Cloudready (chromebook)).
I have settled on XFCE4 as my daily drive (and will sometimes switch with
FVWM3  https://github.com/fvwmorg/fvwm3  ).

Having said that, information about your hardware may help: WiFi driver
needed, Video chipset (Nvidia?)
