If you are the one that installed it originally, it might end up being
easier to just reinstall ubuntu from scratch.
It sounds like a pain.. but it might take less effort and time than you
have already spent.
You might also want to look at ublock instead of adblock plus. An easy
solution is to find and install librewolf, which is a fork of firefox
with ublock and other privacy friendly changes.
Seems like there is a growing market for paid in person linux support.
I've noticed this elsewhere. If I get some of my other projects taken
care of, maybe I'll work on it.
